2018 08 26 - 08 31 River View Campground, Minnesota Twins, Linder Point Campground

River View Campground, Owatonna, Minnesota - 25 August 2018

It was a busy weekend and we were in the after-thought overflow section, down hill from the main camper sites. As we were driving to our site, I had to walk to verify clearance of overhanging trees and close parked vehicles of all kinds. Almost to our site when a heavy rain started. A very soggy few days with several downpours.
Minneapolis, Minnesota - 26 August 2018
Visiting my niece, Stephanie Beane. A beautiful view of downtown from their rooftop.

After a tour of her and Lisa's apartment we all went to Target Field for a Twins baseball game against Oakland Athletics. Looked like it was going to rain (again) but our seats accessed a protected area.

The weather finally cleared but the Twins couldn't pull out a win. But with such fun company it was still a good game.

By Monday, we were the only remaining campers. Nice wooded area but the roads were muddy and waterlogged with large standing puddles. When we left it stopped raining long enough to hook up, but we had to stop at the dump station as our site had no sewer connection. This time it started raining on Bob.
Linder Point campground, Coralville, Iowa - 28 August 2018
We camped at this same US Army Corps of Engineers Dam Complex at the Coralville Lake Project as we did on our way west from St. Louis. Since we are staying over the Labor Day holiday we have one week here and next week at the original site. There is a nicely groomed trail from our campsite along the lake shore. Saw three deer, a bald eagle and a kingfisher.
Beautiful blue skies, cool breeze and a wonderful lake.

Linder Point Campground built by the Army Corp of Engineers. Double-wide concrete pad with full hook-ups under a beautiful ash tree.

Thursday afternoon we were relaxing outside our trailer when this man walked up and asked if we could help him move his trailer to a different campground. His site reservation had expired but his truck broke down. Bob agreed to hook him up and drive to his new site. I was getting worried after an hour but seems the campground was much further than we understood from his initial directions. Bob returned after setting him down.

Dakota was so focused on the skinny chipmunk that she didn't even notice the leaf falling on her head.
