2017 09 30 - 10 10 weather or not we are preparing to leave South Dakota

A brief update on the changing weather and of our activities since arriving at Yogi Bear Jellystone Campground, Sioux Falls.

Yogi agreed to watch the dogs. What a guy. We had a nice string of beautiful weather...mid-60s and perfect blue skies.

Early October and the weather is nice. No jacket, just a scarf for the windy conditions. We are still working through all the RV systems and sorting out the things we still need to donate.
An early October morning heavy dew and a bit chilly.
Somewhere in the 40's. Finally had to turn on the furnace. We also have a heat pump which is good down to about 45 degrees.
Dakota enjoys the view of the cornfield in the morning. We think she has some recall of a prior corn field which had many rabbits and birds.
The weather warmed a bid and we were invaded by the Asian Lady Beetles.
We had a few screens that were not snapped in place and had over 100 inside the trailer. Thankfully our vacuum has a long reach.
Temperature 70 degrees. The Lady Beetles were swarming.
Lots of rain made for mud puddles. Mud and sand got into the trailer.
October 9th. Someone is getting ready for Halloween. Check out the hatch in front of us. These people are serious.
October 10th and the temperature dropped to 28 degrees.
Brrr. What a shock. Especially when we discover the propane has run out of our tank without the gauge showing any red. Four o'clock in the morning and the RV is 52 degrees inside. Even the dogs were cold. But Bob is our hero. He dressed and went outside to change the tank so the furnace would restart.
We have two tanks so turn a knob and the switch is complete.
Three hours later, he still has a smile on his face and is up with the sun. Out for a morning walk with the dogs and it's cold. There is frost on the grass. Tori is not reacting to the temperature, she just has breakfast on her mind.
Tori and Dakota found a warm spot in front of the fireplace.
We are still moving stuff from the apartment and have
realized we still have way too much stuff. Boxes and bins every where there is room. We find it amazing how much we have sold or donated. and yet...
Tori likes it a lot.
