20210615 - 0716 New Holland, PA

Near Lancaster Pennsylvania

A little redecorating - 16 June - 22 July 2021
Top photo is the original 3 piece theatre seating we have been using for 4 years. The bottom photo shows the retained 2 pieces (chair and center console) and the new rocker-recliner for me.

Scenes at New Holland KOA  16 June - 16 July 2021

Scenes of Amish farms from our campground which is north of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This area is very quiet and we frequently get to watch the farmers and their 4 horse (or mule) teams running different implements through their fields.

This campground is so popular that we got the last available site for the month long stay. It's at the end of the row so we had very little traffic. Bob found a black walnut tree nearby while taking the dogs for a walk. We had a very vocal visitor on many mornings when a wren would sit on our picnic table and loudly sing.

Visits to Kristen and Dave's house 16 June - 16 July 2021

Fetch is the name of the game for these two very big boys. Zeus and Kilo will spend hours (seriously, hours) running after this ball. Even after all that running, they want to play catch for hours in the house. They have so much energy - it's exhausting.

But they also love their pool time.

They have added solar panels on each side of their house. Very environmentally friendly.

You can't get too much Zeus. He is so very friendly. The only drawback is having him laying on you. At 120 pounds the floor is a much better option than laying across my knees.

Bob and Dave.  Active and Inactive.

Antiquing with Kristen

On one of our visiting days Bob, Kristen and I hit the antique mall. We have all enjoyed this activity for years, back to when Kristen was not yet a teenager. She always wanted to know what all the old things were. Even though we are not in the market anymore, it is something we still like to do.

Visit to Bob and Karen's house - 23 June 2021

Visiting my brother, Bob and his wife, Karen for the day. Admiring their container gardening and catching up after our almost two year self quarantine west of the Mississippi River due to Covid.

Hours of fun circling the pool. Both Froggy and Dakota played this cat and mouse (haha, frog and dog, I love it!) game almost all afternoon. She was never brave enough to get any closer. But we preferred a little distance to an accidental tumble into the pool.

I finally got down on the deck so she could see Froggy close up. Tori could not care less and ignored us completely. But Dakota continued to be fascinated .

Longwood Gardens - 24 June 2021

Always a good time with lots of walking, we had a nice summer day with Cathy and David to ramble around Longwood Gardens. The massive fountains were working and the viewing area was open.

Last time we were here, all the bonsai were jammed in a work area so viewing them was difficult. This time we were thrilled to see them displayed properly so each one could be evaluated without the distraction of a compact space.

The more private garden spaces were new to us using hedges and walls to define smaller spaces, each with it's own distinctive plants.

Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden that consists of over 1,077 acres of garden, woodlands, and neadows. Purchased by Pierre S. du Pont in 1906 to prevent a lumber mill operator from cutting down all the trees he opened the gardens in 1921 to the public.
